Tim Schmidt

Tim Schmidt is the founder and CEO of the Home Defense Association of America and its sister organization the United States Concealed Carry Association (USCCA). The USCCA is “The Ultimate Resource for the Armed Citizen” and has over 65,000 active members. He is also the founder and publisher of Concealed Carry Magazine, a national magazine dedicated to the responsibly armed citizen. Tim is an avid shooter, loves to ride big, black motorcycles and holds a black belt in Tae Kwon do. He lives in South-Eastern Wisconsin with his wife of 18 years and three young children.

Lt. Col. Dave Grossman

Lt. Col. Dave Grossman is an internationally recognized scholar, author, soldier, and speaker who is one of the world’s foremost experts in the field of human aggression and the roots of violence and violent crime. He is U.S. Army (Ret.) Director, Warrior Science Group, Member, American Board for Certification in Homeland Security; Member, American College of Forensic Examiners Institute. Lt. Col. Dave Grossman is an internationally recognized scholar, author, soldier, and speaker who is one of the world’s foremost experts in the field of human aggression and the roots of violence and violent crime.

LT. Col. Grossman is a former West Point psychology professor, Professor of Military Science, and an Army Ranger who has combined his experiences to become the founder of a new field of scientific endeavor, which has been termed “killology.” In this new field Col. Grossman has made revolutionary new contributions to our understanding of killing in war, the psychological costs of war, the root causes of the current “virus” of violent crime that is raging around the world, and the process of healing the victims of violence, in war and peace. LT. Col. Dave Grossman also teamed up with us to create the best-selling product Bullet Proof Mind.

Rob Pincus

Rob Pincus is the developer of the Combat Focus Shooting program and has conducted training and developed programs for law enforcement, military special operations & private security personnel as well as those interested in personal and home defense. Rob stresses working with the body’s natural reactions during conflict and training in a way that is consistent with the context of those conflicts. Rob’s Company, I.C.E. Training, conducts courses at various locations around the US. Integrity – Consistency – Efficiency. The developer of the Combat Focus shooting program, Pincus also hosts and writes for Outdoor Channel’s wildly popular show “The Best Defense” and “S.W.A.T. Magazine TV.” His work has appeared in Police, Tactical Response, SWAT, and GunWorld. Rob has also teamed up with us to create specialized training DVDs for our members.

Kathy Jackson

Kathy Jackson is the managing editor of the Home Defense Magazine and the Concealed Carry Magazine and an instructor at the Firearms Academy of Seattle in Washington state. Kathy is a popular author on the topic of Concealed Carry and self defense for women. Kathy has an impressive knack for delivering practical advice for women and men interested in living the armed lifestyle.

Betty Shonts

Betty Shonts is the Art Director for Concealed Carry Magazine and Home Defense Magazine. Born and raised in New Jersey, she transplanted to Tennessee in 1991, where she was able to get her hands on her first firearm and start shooting. Betty loves firearms for recreation, hunting and self-defense, preferring the 12 gauge shotgun above all others. For personal defense, Betty carries either a Colt Cobra .38 Spl, CZ RAMI 9mm or HK USPc in .45.

Betty also enjoys reading, photography, collecting, vegetable gardening, and foreign food. She lives with her wonderful husband, two young children, and two dogs.

Jeff Anderson

Jeff Anderson is the President of the International Society of Close Quarter Combatants.
He has a long resume as a decorated combat veteran of the U.S. military; did my time as an executive protection specialist, Certified Protection Professional (CPP), security consultant and Master Close Quarters Combat Instructor. More importantly, Jeff is a husband and a father. His wife and three kids mean the world to him and their safety is his responsibility just as your responsibility is to protect those you love from harm.

Dennis Cantrell

Dennis Cantrell an Ohio resident, hopes to promote firearms by helping others understand them better.

Tom Givens

Tom Givens is the owner of Rangemaster in Memphis, TN. For over 30 years Tom’s duties have included firearms instruction. He is certified as an expert witness on firearms and firearms training, giving testimony in both state and federal courts. He serves as an adjunct instructor at the Memphis Police Department Training Academy, the largest in the state. Tom’s training resume includes certification from the FBI Police Firearms Instructor School, NRA Law Enforcement Instructor Development School, NRA Law Enforcement Tactical Shooting Instructor School, Gunsite 499 under Jeff Cooper, and more.

Rory Miller

A seventeen-year veteran of a metropolitan correctional system, and a former advisor to the Iraqi Correctional System, Rory Miller has built a resume that includes thousands of hours of firearms, unarmed combatives and tactical work and training. Rory has a Bachelor’s degree in psychology, a blackbelt in jujutsu and college varsities in judo and fencing. He wrote “Meditations on Violence: A Comparison of Martial Arts Training and Real World Violence.”

Bruce N. Eimer, PH.D

Bruce N. Eimer, Ph.D., psychologist and NRA Certified Law Enforcement Firearms Instructor, trains law abiding citizens in the defensive use of firearms. Kevin L. Jamison, ESQ

Kevin L. Jamison is an attorney in the Kansas City Missouri area, concentrating in weapons and self-defense. He is an expert in home defense and armed self defense.

Steve Collins

Steve Collins owns S & L Training in SW Missouri, teaching concealed carry and defensive firearms and tactics. He is a former member of the US Army Marksmanship Unit and an NRA Certified Firearms Instructor.

Duncan Mackie

Duncan R. Mackie is a ten-year police veteran, police firearms instructor, and life-long gun enthusiast living in Las Vegas, NV. He holds several NRA pistol certifications,and is a life member of the NRA, GOA, CCRKBA and the Second Amendment Foundation.

RK Campbell

R K Campbell is an author with over 40 years shooting experience and more than 30 years police and security experience. He is the author of three books and hundreds of magazine articles. He devotes his time to learning more about personal defense and the human situation.

Diane Walls

Diane Walls is a longtime martial artist and shooter. She is on staff at Firearms Academy of Seattle as a handgun instructor. As a freelance writer, her work appears regularly in Women & Guns and Concealed Carry Magazines and has been featured in Tactical Life and Personal & Home Defense Magazines.

Duane A Daiker

Duane A. Daiker writes extensively on equipment, training, and concealed carry issues from a civilian perspective. He has been writing for CCM since its first issue, and writes regularly for Shooting Illustrated. Duane has been a lifelong shooter and goes about his life as an armed, responsible, and somewhat opinionated citizen. Jim Fleming

Jim is a former law enforcement officer, and a trial attorney with 27 years of experience. He is a member of the Board of Advisors for the Armed Citizens Legal Defense Network, and President of Mid-Minnesota Self-Defense, Inc., a company providing both basic and advanced firearms self-defense training. Jim is an NRA, and Utah certified instructor, and has attended numerous shooting schools including LFI-1 in 2009, and MAG 80 in 2011.

Mark Walters

Mark Walters is a NRA certified instructor, co-author of the book Lessons from Armed America, and a vocal Second Amendment activist. He is the nationally syndicated host of our very own radio show entitled Armed American Radio, which airs Sunday evenings at 8-11 pm EST (5-8 pm PST) from coast to coast. Mark is an industry expert who interviews some of the best and brightest home defense trainers in the world and he will be sharing this information with you.
